Our Philosophy
At Willow Gate Cattery, we believe exceptional cats begin with thoughtful breeding, lifelong stewardship, and an unwavering commitment to health and temperament. Our goal is simple: to preserve the beauty, intelligence, and affectionate nature of Siamese and Balinese cats while raising confident, well-socialized companions that will be cherished for a lifetime.
As a TICA-registered cattery, we are dedicated to the careful preservation and advancement of these remarkable breeds. Every breeding is intentionally planned with health, temperament, structure, and breed integrity at the forefront. We are proud to maintain pedigrees spanning many generations, allowing us to make informed breeding decisions while honoring the rich history of these bloodlines.
Health is the foundation of our program. All of our breeding cats undergo comprehensive DNA testing and are clear of all currently testable genetic predispositions. Our kittens receive age-appropriate veterinary care, vaccinations, and ongoing health monitoring before joining their new families.
Our breeding program is centered on preserving the classic Siamese color points, including beloved colors such as seal point and blue point. We have also thoughtfully incorporated cinnamon and dilute genetics, allowing us to preserve and occasionally produce traditional colors such as lilac, cinnamon, and fawn. We are especially honored to continue the respected Permes cinnamon bloodlines through our stud, Permes Simon I, helping preserve these treasured genetics for future generations.
Temperament is every bit as important as health. Our kittens are raised in our home with daily handling and socialization alongside our dogs and adult cats, where they become accustomed to everyday household life. This early foundation helps develop the affectionate, intelligent, and people-oriented personalities for which Siamese and Balinese are so well known.
Many families choose Siamese and Balinese cats because they are often better tolerated by individuals with cat allergies. While no cat is truly hypoallergenic, these breeds are frequently reported to produce lower levels of the Fel d 1 protein, the primary allergen responsible for most cat allergies, and their fine, low-shedding coats may help reduce the spread of allergens throughout the home. If you have allergy concerns, please discuss them with both your healthcare provider and us before bringing any cat into your home.
We believe in intentional, limited breeding. Our queens have carefully planned litters with ample time to rest and thrive between pregnancies, allowing us to prioritize both their well-being and the quality of every kitten we raise.
Responsible placement is one of our greatest commitments. We carefully match each kitten with the family best suited to its personality and place pet kittens with spay/neuter agreements. Breeding rights are offered only to select programs that share our dedication to ethical breeding, health, and preservation.
Our commitment does not end when a kitten leaves our home. We are proud to provide lifetime support to every Willow Gate family and are always available to offer guidance throughout your cat's life. If circumstances ever change, we will gladly work with our families to help find an appropriate new home whenever possible.
